On September 12 2002 at Malibu, California,
actor Nick Nolte - seen in this police mugshot
- was arrested for investigation of being under
the influence of alcohol or drugs after his
Mercedes-Benz car was seen swerving on a highway
near his home. The movie star pleaded no contest
to driving under the influence of a drug he
claimed to have consumed in a bodybuilding supplement.
He was placed on probation with orders to remain
in drug counseling for several months. Under
the plea agreement, prosecutors dropped a second
misdemeanor drug count.
